Our membership includes people from all over Arizona, so we like to move the campouts around the State to accommodate the members. We stay at State, county, and private parks, as that type of variety offers the most in terms of beauty and area activities (walking, hiking, local tours, and events). Our outings are 3 to 4 nights, dependent upon the location and anticipated travel time for most members. We camp during the week, rather than the busy weekends. When possible, we group our campsites, and for private parks we also try for discounted group rates. There are typically 7 to 8 campouts a year in the Fall through the Spring. Suggestions for campout locations come from the members and are researched by the Wagon Master.
Each campout includes late afternoon Attitude Adjustment (happy hour), afternoon games, a morning meeting and a last morning gathering before we depart. Dependent upon our location, there are also tours and events that members enjoy. During these Covid Safe times, we also plan group lunches or dinners at local restaurants. Occasionally we schedule a speaker on a topic of interest for RV campers. Our campouts provide new and experienced RV campers the opportunity to enjoy the company of likeminded people who enjoy the outdoors and spending time with other campers.
